MAIN BRANCH LIBRARY (above) of the Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Library System is a striking building that was completed in 2020 at the corner of Main and Sixth Streets in Pine Bluff. In addition to a collection of books and periodicals, the building houses the Ann Lightsey Chil- dren's Library as well as 20 public-use computers, a recording studio, a teaching kitchen and classrooms where various crafts and skills are taught. COMMUNITY THEATER is a historic theatre building at 207 West 2nd Av- enue in Pine Bluff, Jefferson County. It is a two-story brick building, finished in stucco, with Moderne styling. It was built in 1889, and housed first a furni- ture store, and then a five and dime, before being converted for theatrical use in the 1920s. Its present Moderne styling dates to renovations made in the wake of a 1951 fire. The building was listed on the National Register of His- toric Places in 2004.
